Ingredients
- 6 cups of peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the apples evenly and set aside.
- Step 3: In another bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt.
- Step 4: Add the softened butter to the dry mixture and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 5: Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Step 6: Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples evenly.
- Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Step 8: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
- Step 9: Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
