A savory and sweet balsamic glaze enhances juicy chicken breasts for a delightful main course.

Balsamic Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Step 2: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Step 3: Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Step 4: In the same skillet, add the balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning, stirring to combine.
  5. Step 5: Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  6. Step 6: Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly, then stir in the butter until melted and well combined.
  7. Step 7: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the balsamic sauce over the top to coat.
  8. Step 8: Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat the chicken through.
  9. Step 9: Serve the balsamic chicken warm, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired.
