  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Rub the pork shoulder with olive oil to coat it evenly.
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Step 3: Rub the spice mixture all over the pork, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Step 4: Place the pork in a slow cooker and pour the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth around the meat.
  5. Step 5: Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
  6. Step 6: Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  7. Step 7: Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir it into the juices.
  8. Step 8: Allow the pork to soak in the juices for an additional 30 minutes on the warm setting.
  9. Step 9: Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns with a side of coleslaw, if desired.
