Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, sesame oil, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes until smooth and set aside.
  2. Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Step 3: Add the beef slices to the skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side, then remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Step 4: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  5. Step 5: Add the garlic and ginger to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Step 6: Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  7. Step 7: Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli.
  8. Step 8: Stir everything together and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened and everything is well coated.
  9. Step 9: Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot over cooked white rice.
