Brown Butter Pecan Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it turns a golden brown and has a nutty aroma; let it cool slightly.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, mix the brown butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, beating until smooth.
  4. Step 4: In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Step 6: Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Step 7: Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  8. Step 8: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  9. Step 9: Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  10. Step 10: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown; let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
