A delicious and cheesy chicken quesadilla with a perfect blend of spices, served with salsa and sour cream.

Chicken Quesadilla

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Step 2: Season chicken strips with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and chili powder.
  3. Step 3: Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. Step 4: Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Step 5: Wipe the skillet clean, then add another tablespoon of oil and reduce heat to medium.
  6. Step 6: Place a tortilla in the skillet, sprinkle with a quarter of each cheese, and add a portion of the cooked chicken.
  7. Step 7: Fold the tortilla in half and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is golden and crispy.
  8. Step 8: Repeat the process with remaining tortillas, cheese, and chicken.
  9. Step 9: Cut each quesadilla into wedges and serve with salsa, sour cream, and chopped cilantro.
