Cinnamon French Toast is a deliciously sweet and comforting breakfast classic, perfect for starting your day on a flavorful note.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 8 slices of thick-cut bread
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Maple syrup, for serving
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
- Step 2: Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Step 3: Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not soaked through.
- Step 4: Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the skillet, swirling to coat the surface.
- Step 5: Place a few slices of soaked bread in the skillet, cooking until golden brown on the bottom, about 2-3 minutes.
- Step 6: Flip the bread slices and cook the other side until golden brown and cooked through, another 2-3 minutes.
- Step 7: Repeat with the remaining slices, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.
- Step 8: Serve the French toast warm with a drizzle of maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
