- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup whole milk

- ¾ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cups powdered sugar
- ⅛ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoons heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, beat the 1/2 cup butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Step 4: Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition, then mix in the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Step 5: Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
- Step 6: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Step 7: Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
- Step 8: Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
