Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 large eggs
  • ¾ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • ⅛ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, beat the 1/2 cup butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Step 4: Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition, then mix in the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  5. Step 5: Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Step 7: Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  8. Step 8: Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Step 9: To make the frosting, beat the 1/3 cup butter in a medium bowl until creamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar, heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, beating until smooth and fluffy.
  10. Step 10: Frost the cooled cupcakes with the prepared frosting and serve.
