These classic fudge brownies are rich, chocolatey, and perfect for satisfying any sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, then remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Step 3: Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder to the butter mixture and stir until the batter is smooth.
- Step 4: Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts, if using, until evenly distributed.
- Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan and the center is set.
- Step 7: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.
