Garlic Lemon Butter Scallops are a deliciously simple dish featuring tender scallops in a tangy, buttery sauce.

Garlic Lemon Butter Scallops

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sea scallops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season them with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Step 2: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Step 3: Add the scallops to the skillet in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and opaque.
  4. Step 4: Remove the scallops from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
  5. Step 5: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter and minced garlic, stirring until the butter is melted and the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute.
  6. Step 6: Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  7. Step 7: Return the scallops to the skillet and spoon the garlic lemon butter sauce over them to coat.
  8. Step 8: Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
