Ground Beef Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Step 2: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then return it to the heat.
  5. Step 5: Stir in the taco seasoning mix and water, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Warm the corn tortillas in a separate skillet over medium heat until pliable, about 1 minute per side.
  7. Step 7: Fill each tortilla with a portion of the beef mixture, then top with shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream, and salsa.
  8. Step 8: Serve immediately, allowing everyone to add their preferred toppings.
