Korean Beef Bulgogi is a flavorful and savory dish featuring tender marinated beef stir-fried with onions and carrots, perfect for a delightful homemade meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 carrot, julienned
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
- Step 2: Add the thinly sliced flank steak to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Step 3: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Step 4: Add the marinated beef slices to the pan, spreading them out to cook evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Step 5: Add the sliced onion and julienned carrot to the pan, stir-frying with the beef for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Step 6: Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
- Step 7: Serve hot with steamed rice or lettuce leaves for wrapping.
