Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 2: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Step 3: Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Step 4: Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet.
- Step 5: Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic, oregano, and thyme. Sauté until the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Step 6: Pour in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Step 7: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Allow the chicken to simmer in the sauce until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 8: Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the chicken.
- Step 9: Garnish with lemon slices before serving.
