This classic pumpkin pie offers a rich, spiced filling in a flaky crust, perfect for any fall celebration.
Ingredients
- 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
- 1 3/4 cups pumpkin puree
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 large eggs
- 1 can (12 fl oz) evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
- Step 3: Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and then add them to the pumpkin mixture, stirring well to combine.
- Step 4: Gradually stir in the evaporated milk and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Step 5: Pour the pumpkin filling into the unbaked pie crust.
- Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- Step 7: Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Step 8: Remove from the oven and let the pie cool on a wire rack.
- Step 9: Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Step 10: Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
