Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Step 3: Mix in the vanilla extract and salt until fully combined.
- Step 4: Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Step 5: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness.
- Step 6: Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough into desired shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Step 7: Chill the cookie shapes in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to help them hold their shape during baking.
- Step 8: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Step 9: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
