These classic stuffed shells are filled with a rich cheese mixture and baked in marinara sauce for a comforting and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Step 2: Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Step 4: Fill each cooked pasta shell with a generous spoonful of the cheese mixture.
- Step 5: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Step 6: Arrange the stuffed shells in the baking dish in a single layer.
- Step 7: Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, ensuring they are well covered.
- Step 8: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Step 9: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Step 10: Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
