Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  3. Step 3: In another small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
  4. Step 4: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Step 5: Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Pour the soy sauce mixture over the chicken and bring to a simmer.
  7. Step 7: Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet, stir well, and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Step 8: Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, cover, and steam for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender yet crisp.
  9. Step 9: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
