Delicious Teriyaki Salmon recipe shared by Tyler DiSiena on The Forever Cookbook. Learn how to make this amazing dish with our step-by-step instructions.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the teriyaki marinade.
- Step 2: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the fish. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Step 3: Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
- Step 4: Remove the salmon from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later.
- Step 5: If grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, then flip and brush with reserved marinade. Cook for another 4-6 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Step 6: If baking, place the salmon on a lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, brushing with reserved marinade halfway through.
- Step 7: Once cooked, remove the salmon from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Step 8: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
