A vibrant and flavorful tofu stir fry packed with fresh vegetables and a savory sauce.
Ingredients
- 14 oz firm tofu, drained and cubed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup snap peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Cooked white or brown rice, for serving
Instructions
- Step 1: Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
- Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 3: Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8 minutes, then remove from the skillet.
- Step 4: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Step 5: Stir in the red bell pepper, broccoli, and snap peas, and cook until vegetables are tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
- Step 6: Add the garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Step 7: Return the tofu to the skillet and add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil, stirring to coat everything evenly.
- Step 8: Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat everything through.
- Step 9: Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
- Step 10: Serve the stir fry over cooked rice.
