A hearty and flavorful Western Omelet packed with ham, bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese.

Western Omelet

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Step 2: Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
  3. Step 3: Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and ham to the skillet and sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Pour the egg mixture over the sautéed vegetables and ham, tilting the skillet to spread the eggs evenly.
  5. Step 5: Cook until the edges start to set, then gently lift the edges with a spatula to allow uncooked eggs to flow underneath.
  6. Step 6: When the omelet is nearly set but still slightly runny on top, sprinkle the cheddar cheese and diced tomatoes over one half.
  7. Step 7: Fold the other half of the omelet over the filling and cook for another minute or until the cheese is melted.
  8. Step 8: Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve hot.
