A hearty and flavorful Western Omelet packed with ham, bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced cooked ham
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Step 2: Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Step 3: Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and ham to the skillet and sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Step 4: Pour the egg mixture over the sautéed vegetables and ham, tilting the skillet to spread the eggs evenly.
- Step 5: Cook until the edges start to set, then gently lift the edges with a spatula to allow uncooked eggs to flow underneath.
- Step 6: When the omelet is nearly set but still slightly runny on top, sprinkle the cheddar cheese and diced tomatoes over one half.
- Step 7: Fold the other half of the omelet over the filling and cook for another minute or until the cheese is melted.
- Step 8: Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve hot.
