Wonton Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup shrimp, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups bok choy, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish
  • Sliced chili for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Step 2: Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Bring the two corners together and pinch to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Step 3: In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Step 4: Add the prepared wontons to the boiling broth and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the top and are cooked through.
  5. Step 5: Add the chopped bok choy to the pot and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  6. Step 6: Taste the soup and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Step 7: Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro and sliced chili if desired.
